The approved groundwater allocations set a limit on groundwater pumping for WY 2026 (October 1, 2025– September 30, 2026) and are as follows (units are in evapotranspiration i.e., net usage):
- Sustainable Yield Allocation is 0.83 acre-feet/acre
- Tier 1 Penalty Allocation is 0.31 acre-feet/acre
- Tier 2 Penalty Allocation is 0.23 acre-feet/acre
The combined total for Sustainable Yield, Tier 1 and Tier 2 is 1.37 acre-feet/acre.
Penalty Rates
The approved penalty Rates we decided at the September 8, 2025 Board Meeting and are as follows:
- Tier 1 Penalty Rate $150.00
- Tier 2 Penalty Rate $250.00
- Prohibited Tier Remains $500.00
Precipitation Allocation
The approved precipitation allocation is calculated as the 25-year rolling average precipitation for the entire GKGSA area. The variability in precipitation in the GKGSA ranges from the eastern (3 inches) to western (11 inches) portion.
