On February 12th, the Greater Kaweah Board of Directors made four policy changes that that effect Grower’s allocation of water and use:

  • Unused Sustainable Yield Water is carried over into the next year at full value and there is no leave behind required.

  • Unused Tiered Water can be carried over into the next year at full value and there is no annual leave behind required.  The Grower must pay upfront to Carryover Tiered Water or lose access to the water.

  • In the Dashboard a Grower can select the priority of use of water credits (Native Sustainable Yield, Tier Water, Surface Water) other than Precipitation, which is used first by default.

  • Starting the 2024 Water Year, average Precipitation will be calculated and allocated for the year based on a 25 year Rolling Average.
